Abstract

In this paper, design and analyses of the elliptic monopole antenna is proposed. The designed antenna has a compact size of 15 x 25 x 1.6 mm. In the antenna design low cost FR4 dielectric material is used. The antenna works efficiently at the frequency band of 3.1 GHz- 10.6 GHz where the reflection coefficient values lower than -10 dB. In addition to this, the antenna has a minimum and maximum gain values of the 2.5 dBi and 9dBi respectively in the UWB range. In addition to this, the antenna has a minimum and maximum gain values of the 2.5 dBi and 9 dBi respectively in the UWB range. As a result, it can be said that, the proposed antenna can be used in the UWB applications.
